 Happy 1st Day of Destination D23!!

Welcome to my twenty-third blog! Or should I say, welcome to my D23 blog! Today is the first day of Destination D23. It is similar to D23 The Ultimate Fan Event but a little smaller. This year it is held at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The focus of the event is it showcases Disney’s fandom globally and specific areas of the world connected to Disney Film and TV shows. It will be held from August 29-31. I will share posts announced during the event. Something special for this year’s event is a few of the showcases will be live-streamed for D23 Gold Members a part of their new virtual event program; D23 Gold Theater. 

Speaking of announcements. ESPN just released their standalone streaming service on August 21 for all sport fans who want a one stop shop of all things ESPN. This service has every channel ESPN owns, including the recently acquired NFL Network & NFL Redzone channels, + ESPN originals, while NFL acquired 10% of ESPN, Inc. When subscribing to the Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN), you can access all three services straight on Disney+. Also sometime next year, Disney will be completely merging Hulu into Disney+ globally, because they recently acquired the rest of Hulu from Comcast. One app for everything Disney. Yes, please. Disney+ for all ages, all fans, and all maturity levels. Sometime next year the Live TV service from Hulu will merge with Fubo TV, where Disney will own 70%. We will have to wait to see where the future of entertainment will go after these many acquisitions. 

If you do not know already, I recently celebrated my 1st anniversary at Odyssey Cinemas & Social Fond du Lac 8. Happy Day After Disney 2026 Shareholder Meeting Day!! Welcome to my 30th blog! Yesterday was The Walt Disney Company Annual Shareholder Meeting. They transitioned to a new CEO, Josh D’Amaro. He comes from being the head of Disney Experiences. The meeting also marked the first company wide CCO with Dana Walden.  Before the business and shareholder questionnaire portions of the meeting. It started with James Gorman, Disney Board Chairman, welcoming Josh D’Amaro & Dana Walden to the C-Suite and thanking Bob Iger for his 20+ years as CEO. They also showed a Thank You, Bob! Video which was the best Thank You video I have ever seen. On behalf of Disney Shareholders and Disney super fans everywhere, Thank You, Bob for leading the best entertainment company in the world!!   Happy Week After 1st Visit to Universal Epic Universe!! Welcome to my thirty-first blog!! And yes, I am talking about this again. I talk about Disney in all of my blogs its Universal turn.
