Happy Apple 2026 Shareholder Meeting Day!!
Welcome to my twenty-ninth blog! Today is Apple Inc. Annual Shareholder Meeting. This is where they will share business updates to shareholders like me. I hope they announce something for their 50th Anniversary on April 1st. Yes, Steve Jobs did start his business on April 1st, 1976. Speaking of announcements, they have recently announced a new redesigned video podcast experience to their Podcasts app. Where you can transition to video to listening and back seamlessly, and more. They have introduced Apple Creator Studio, a subscription based update to their creative apps including Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, & Logic Pro with supercharge productivity of premium content and intelligence features. Along with this update, they have also updated their free office apps (Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Freeform, & More). They have always been free to anyone with an Apple device. No need to purchase Microsoft Office 365.
Speaking of shareholder meetings. The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Shareholder Meeting will be next month on March 18. This meeting is where they will transition to a new CEO, Josh D’Amaro. He comes from being the head of Disney Experiences. I feel he will be great at his new job as overseeing the entire company. Current CEO Robert Iger has been at the helm since 2005. (We don’t talk about Bob Chapek). Before coming CEO in 2005 he was the head of ABC before Disney purchased it in 1996. If Disney did not purchase ABC we may not have had Robert Iger as CEO for 20+ years. Also at this meeting, as a first with the company, they will have a Chief Creative Officer overseeing the whole business with Dana Walden. Yes Disney’s first company wide CCO is female. She was even considered being the CEO, which would also be a first for Disney. Dana comes from being the head of Disney Entertainment sharing responsibilities with Alan Bergman. Speaking of corporate shake up, Kathleen Kennedy has stepped down as the head of LucasFilm (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc). Dave Filoni & Lynwen Brennan will be taking over LucasFilm similar to Warner Bros’ DC Studios’ James Gunn & Peter Safran. Fun fact: James Gunn was the director of Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
Are you keeping up with Paramount Skydance & Netflix trying to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery? Who will win? Who do you want to win?
It was so fun writing about all things Shareholders. I can’t wait for the next blog. Until next time, keep your days open for more knowledge. Thank you to everyone who reads this blog.
