Blog #9 June 2024
Happy Birthday Dylan!
Welcome to my ninth blog! Today would have been my little brother’s 22nd Birthday. With this blog I want to honor my little brother. I am sorry if and when this blog will bring up any tough emotions for you, my readers. He was stillborn. I was three at the time. I do not remember what happened that day at the hospital but I was told I could sense a problem in the hospital room and it was tough for me to go into the room. After these years, I have made an observation with this tough event being my first experience of empathy on a stronger level. Every experience after that I continue to feel this strong emotional force over me.
I want to take this time to give awareness to better research and medical care with Women and Baby Health. I have made a donation in memory of my brother to March of Dimes. They use donations to help improve the health of moms and babies. If you would like to donate please visit:

Sometimes I imagine Dylan around with me. Imagining him living life to the fullest. Last year he would have been 21 years old. So imagining him experiencing his first alcoholic drink. Some of this is also hope. I hope he would have liked me and the rest of the family. My family have said he looked like me when I was born. So imagining a younger version of myself with a few differences because I would not think we would look totally like twins is what I see him look like when I think of him. Throughout the years there has been connections I feel with the emphasis of my brother. First of which is my adopted sister being born on the same year as him. Also with being a film and television buff I catch references of Dylan being used as a name for a character or premiere dates matching with his birthdate.
One big connection today is Disney & Pixar Inside Out 2 premiering today in theaters. My family and I will be going to this film sometime this weekend. The sequel of Inside Out, which itself premiered only 5 days after what would have been Dylan’s 13th birthday back in 2015. With Pixar films there are some type of character having emotions. Some examples are toys having emotions in the Toy Story franchise or cars having emotions in the Cars franchise. The Inside Out franchise is no different with emotions having emotions.
It was an honor to write about my brother Dylan. I cannot wait for the next blog. Until next time, keep your days open for more knowledge. Thank you to everyone who reads this blog.
