Blog #7 April 2024
Happy Earth Day!
Welcome to my seventh blog! Earth is our home. We should protect and care for it everyday. Helping even a little can have a positive impact on the Earth. Including turning off lights, using less water, and the three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle). God created Heaven and Earth in six days (Day 1: Day and Night, Day 2: Sea and Heaven, Day 3: Plants and Land, Day 4: Sun, Moon & Stars, Day 5: Birds and Sea Creatures, Day 6: Animals and People) and rested on the seventh day. This is my seventh blog and I am just getting started.
April is Earth Month. It was exciting to experience an Eclipse on April 8th. Wisconsin was not in the line of totality but there was a partial eclipse and what I witnessed was quite magical; everything outside had this grayish tint to it. Disney and National Geographic partnered together to throw a multi-cross platform (ABC, ABC News Live, Disney+, Hulu, National Geographic, Nat Geo WILD) broadcast special on the eclipse called: Eclipse Across America. It showed NASA live coverage of the Eclipse at multiple locations from Mexico to Maine, US.
National Geographic was a part of 21st Century Fox before Disney purchased it with 20th Century Studios back in March 2019 (See Blog #1 Page 2 for more information of other acquisitions) This was a perfect match. Both Disney and National Geographic love and care for the planet. Walt Disney World in Florida has solar panel farms and one of them is lined in a Mickey Mouse shape. Animal Kingdom park and Living of the Land attraction at EPCOT park continues to show Disney’s conservation efforts.
Disney+ has a collection of Disney & National Geographic nature films and tv shows called, our Home. Today, a new addition is the new Disney Nature film called, Tigers and it is narrated by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. This will be Disney Nature’s 14th film and 5th to be released exclusively on Disney+.
Paramount+ has also made a partnership this year for Earth month. They partnered with the National Park Foundation. For Earth week starting today, Paramount+ will live-stream National Parks around the country. People can watch everything from animals to well literal streams during the live-stream.
It was so fun writing about all things about Earth Day, Earth Week and Earth Month. I cannot wait for the next blog. Until next time, keep your days open for more knowledge. Thank you to everyone who reads this blog.
