Blog #4 January 2024
Happy Last Day of the 1st Month of the Year!
Welcome to my fourth blog! I cannot believe it is the end of January already. It feels just yesterday I watched ABC bring in the New Year in New York. How has the new year resolutions been going so far for you? You got time if your resolutions are spread out to be completed by every three months like my Mickey Head craft idea for the Disney Christmas camp (mentioned in Blog #3). My resolutions like every year is to make people laugh (Laughter is the best medicine), become a Best Friend to the new people I meet (Friendship is forever), and count my blessings (Everything is a gift).
This year is a leap year. What will you do with your extra day of 2024? February 29 is on a Thursday so I will get an extra day at my job. I will also have an extra day to continue my fun-to-do list (which I started last year to make everyday more fun). The extra day also gives me more time to decide and prepare for my blog in March. In Astronomy at UW Oshkosh, which I may not exactly get this right but with how astronomers studied to discover 365 days in a year they noticed that it is actually 365 days and a 0.25 day. They decided to make a leap year with an extra day every 4th year to make up the difference.
In March, D23 the official Disney fan club will celebrate their 15th anniversary. I am currently a Gold Member and it is so surreal they started on my Golden birthday. With this celebration they will be holding a bowling night at Disney Springs for members. I wish I could be there but Spring Break does not start until the next week. They will also hold there Biannual (Every 2 years) convention event, D23 2024: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event during August 9, 10, 11. It used to be called D23 Expo since the first one in 2009. They are planning this one to be the biggest one yet so they decided to give it a name change. I was originally a D23 General Member but when they offered a 3 year subscription to Disney+ back in Summer of 2019, I got this feeling I should upgrade to Gold. Which I did a couple months later and this year I will be celebrating 5 years of being a Gold Member in September. It was the coolest time to start as well because they were celebrating their 10th anniversary and the first yearly gift I got was a collection of 10 Gold pins each celebrating a different Disney property anniversary as well.
It was so fun writing about New Year resolutions and what this new year will bring to me. I cannot wait for the next blog. Until next time, keep your days open for more knowledge. Thank you to everyone who reads this blog.
